International Oyster & Seafood Festival

The Galway International Oyster & Seafood Festival graces the heart of Galway City every last weekend of September. As a jewel in the crown of Western Ireland's festivity line-up, it boasts the distinction of being the globe's longest-standing Oyster Festival and ranks among Ireland's most globally renowned events.

The festival's new Seafood Trail features Galway's top restaurants spotlighting local seafood, ensuring Galway Oysters are available from Friday to Sunday. For the 2025 festival, this favored trail will encompass 16 premier seafood spots, from the famed McDonagh’s on Quay St to iconic oyster houses like Tigh Neachtain and Blackrock Cottage in Salthill.
