Join us in Galway for the largest St. Patrick’s Day celebration the city has ever seen! Galway City Council has organised a spectacular three-day festival from the 15th to the 17th of March, showcasing Irish culture, creativity, and community spirit.
The 2025 St. Patrick’s Day Parade
The highlight of the festival, the St. Patrick’s Day parade, will take place on Monday, 17th March, beginning at 11:30 am. Spanning over an hour, the parade will weave through Galway city centre, featuring up to 3,000 participants from local artists, cultural groups, and community organizations.

Starting at University Road
Crossing the Salmon Weir Bridge
Continuing along Eglinton Street
Passing the viewing stand at Eyre Square
Ending at Prospect Hill

Curry’s Funpark amusements from 14th March
Tribesmen Head of the River
The Galway Head of the River rowing event returns on Saturday, 15th March, with rowing clubs competing in a long-distance race from Lough Corrib to Woodquay.
City Lighting and Decorations
Iconic landmarks like the sails in Eyre Square and the boats in The Claddagh Basin will be illuminated in festive green for a magical atmosphere.
